It’s that time of year again—planning for our Fall Sparrow Lake Family Camp weekend - a weekend away at Sparrow Lake! From Friday, September 25 through Sunday, September 27, you’re invited to join us for our annual Family Camp. Below are all the details. Please feel free to forward to any of your friends - All are Welcome!
Whether you’ve been before or this is your first time, you are wholeheartedly welcome. This is a weekend of community, connection, play, rest, and being together outdoors as the seasons start to turn. If you can't make it for the weekend, we would love to invite you to join us for the day on Saturday. Please let us know so we can have enough food.
There are a few changes this year - as each year we are getting better at planning and preparation! We are going to keep the meals & meal planning a little more simple - less time in the kitchen - more time enjoying our time together. We have some fun new games and activities planned. And of course, we will still be running an incredible bonfire - with music, skits and fun circle games!
We are sharing the space with Burton United Church and as a result Cabin space is limited and will be assigned and filled on a first-come-first-serve basis, so email me soon to get on the list! Please e-transfer $50.00 deposit per person so I can reserve you your cabin. We would really love to have your deposit and commitment As soon As possible to ensure smooth planning! Please reach out!
🌟 The Essentials
Cost (includes accommodations, meals, all taxes) for weekend:
Adults: $120.00
Youth 12+: $90.00
Children: $45.00
Under 5: Free
👉 Example: A family of 2 adults + 2 kids = $330.00 for the whole weekend.
Don’t let cost hold you back, full and partial sponsorships are available. Just let me know!
Saturday Day Cost - Including meals $50.00 per person. (if you are just coming for the Bonfire - no charge at all - we certainly welcome you to join us)
Meals: - Each Meal will include gluten free, diary free and vegetarian options (please let me know ahead of time your needs)
Friday: Bring your own supper & snacks
Saturday: Early Brunch - with all the fixins pancakes bar, bagels, fresh bread, eggs, fruit, cheese, bacon, sausage, and more special treats 🍓🥓🥯 , sandwiches/salads for a light lunch, Pasta and salad dinner
Sunday Continental Light breakfast - with all the leftovers

Friday Evening
Arrivals from 2:00 pm onward - enjoy all that Sparrow has to offer!
Games, social time, optional small/ individual campfire(s)
No prepared dinner – BYO food/snacks
Sign-ups for ropes course & kitchen chores

Campfire: music, skits, youth leadership, and laughs

Free time: small group activities, crafts, boating, nature walks
Departures (or linger a bit longer to soak in Sparrow Lake)
Ongoing All Weekend: arts & crafts, board games, canoes & kayaks, swimming, walks/hikes, and lots of games.

Sparrow Lake Family Camp

You can choose to join us for overnight or just for day visits. Friday night through Sunday lunch are all times open for you to be at Sparrow Lake.
We have a cook who will be providing us scrumptious meals - yes, that could mean a weekend without having to be in the kitchen!!!
Heated spaces are available for sleeping as well as the summer cabins with bunkbeds; generally, families will have a cabin to themselves for sleeping

There are opportunities to do a wide variety of activities and no strict schedule. You can join in some of the activities below as you choose:
-walks and hikes
-canoes and kayaks
-climbing wall (only open at specific times of day)
-capture the flag and other field games (Saturday afternoon)
-arts and crafts
-forest church and campfire Saturday evening
